Barrow House Inn is actually 2 houses (each about 200 years old) in the middle of a fairy-tale town, St Francisville. The 2nd house, Printer's House offers the most memorable experience, with suites that provide you the most in privacy & luxury. Here you will have access to a full-service kitchen with all the comforts of home and everything you need. The Printer's House is also home to thousands of Teddy Bears and related 'Bearaphenalia'. Many of these loveable little friends have been given a new home by guests from around the globe.
Complimentary continental breakfast is served with Sterling Silver on Fine China and consists of fresh fruit croissants, pastries, muffins, other baked goodies and orange juice.
A full breakfast is available for a fee consisting of your choice of 3 gourmet New Orleans-style egg dishes.
Each room and suite is decorated with a carefully-selected collection of American Antiques from the 1840s - 1870s.
After breakfast, pick up our unique audio walking tour at the Barrow House. Listen to the town's history and stroll around the historic district, which includes a stop at Grace Episcopal Church (1859), with one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the entire southern United States. Continue along Ferdinand Street (the main avenue in the historic district) to shop for gifts, antiques, Audubon prints, and whatever else suits your fancy. After lunch, drive out into the countryside to Greenwood Plantation, where you can learn about the rebuilding of the home (which took 16 years) and the filming of the TV mini-series "North and South."
