Slovenske Konjice is one of the oldest towns in central Slovenia. It was already mentioned in medieval chronicles in 1146. It is famous for its numerous cultural and historical monuments as its geographical position between Pohorje and Konjiška gora, near the Dravinja river, has been a very pleasant place for living all over the past centuries. The valley opens onto the Pannonian plain, while on the southern slopes of Pohorje one can find beautiful vineyards, as well as a recently built golf course.
