Facing a waterfront park, the charming setting for the magnificent Kalmar Slottshotellet is amid an elegant Old Town and within walking distance of the Kalmar Castle and the city centre.
The main building is from 1864 and is surrounded by 18th and 19th century’s picturesque villas. Kalmar’s breathtaking sea views are to be experienced both during beautiful summer evenings and in winter when the ice has formed and glistens in the sun.
The 44 unique guest rooms have been decorated in keeping with the period and are further enhanced by the wooden floors, antique furniture, Persian rugs, crystal chandeliers, and brass or wood headboards that are reminiscent of an English country manor. The tasteful public rooms, small balconies and terrace in the paved tranquil courtyard provide the opportunity to relax in peaceful surroundings.
During summer, a full restaurant service is offered on the terrace amid the blooming rose bushes; whereas during other times a plentiful breakfast buffet is served. Remember to sample the culinary delights at Vänner Restaurante.
