Located in Alentejo, the most unspoilt province of Portugal, which is only a 2-hours drive from away Lisbon, Hotel Convento D'Alter was born from the restauration of a 16th century convent. It was used during the last century as a private house, and when it was rebuilt, we kept its original splendour to welcome our guests with the traditional warm Portuguese hospitality.

Hotel Convento D’Alter is located in Alto Alentejo, at about 2 hours away from Lisbon and ca. 1 hour from Spain.
Daily breakfast and dinner, including a choice of salads, desserts and fruit, soup, fish or meat. All dishes are homemade and the food is typical for the region.
We offer 30 rooms with a private bathroom, individual air-conditioning, a mini bar, safe, cable TV, direct telephone, hairdryer, and sound proofed windows.
Most rooms have a balcony and a private terrace.
We also have 1 room which is adjusted to disabled persons.
Around the hotel you can visit for example: Coudelaria de Alter, Cabeço de Vide, Crato, Portalegre, Fronteira, Sousel, Estremoz.
At about 40km from Castelo de Vide and 55km from the village Marvão, which is part of the World Heritage.
