The name which translates into sky and earth, was inspired by the Mayan influence of bordering textiles in the city of San Cristobal, Chiapas. The city was founded in 1528 by Diego Mazaregas; whose actual name gives honor to the Bishop Bartolome De Las Casas, who in the 16th century was the defender of the indigenous people.
The hotel is a colonial house with neo-classic influences located in the center of the city. Close to areas of interest, as the Cathedral, Zocalo, and the Municipal Palace. The hotel is also surrounded by a commercial area, where guest can explore and shop, as well as museums.
