Merida, also known as “The White City”, is the capital of the state of Yucatan. Founded in 1542 over the territory of the antique “Thao”, it is a Mayan city whose splendor and dimensions surpass even those of “Chichen Itza” and “Uxmal”. It is, currently, one of the most important points of socioeconomic development in the southeast of Mexico. It hosts one of the main tourist attractions of the region better known as “The Mayan World.”
