The Elba isle can be reachable from the port of Piombino (about 20 km from the Residenza dei Cavalleggeri). In the surrounding areas is possible to get to:
- Castagneto Carducci (10 km): Medieval suburb and ancient Della Gherardesca Count Signory.
- Suvereto (18 km): a village built during the 10th-century, making part of the mineral-archaeological-mineral San Silvestro Park.
Populonia (10 km): dominating the ancient suburb, it enjoys a wonderful view on the gulf of Baratti, where it is possible to visit the Etruscan Necropolis.
Bolgheri (20 km): with the famous "Cypress-tree Boulevard" immortalised by the Poet Giosuè Carducci in one of his most known poems, San Guido.
Massa Marittima (50 km): situated on the hill slopes, Massa Marittima is rich in museums and is dominated by the marvellous cathedral. This city boasts the first known mining code. Food and wine lovers can enjoy tours to taste local wines, extra virgin olive oil and others uncountable typical gastronomical specialities of the Maremma.
By Car:
- Take the Livorno-Grosseto highway.
- Exit at San Vincenzo north.
- At the roundabouts, follow the signs to Piombino-Isle of Elba.
- Drive through the 23 provincial road (Principessa road).
- At the sign for the end of San Vincenzo town, turn left: in front of you there is the resort.
