Via Salzburg and Karawanken Tunnel into Slovenia, onward via Ljubljana and Postojna in direction of Croatia and the city of Rijeka, from the city of Rijeka forward 105 km to the ferry port Jablanac.

Via Vienna and Graz into Slovenia, onward via Maribor to Zagreb, from the direction of Budapest and the city of Varaždin to Zagreb, from Zagreb forward on highway to Žuta Lokva, onward on the road in direction of the city of Senj, forward on the road in direction of Split to the ferry port Jablanac , total 60 km.

Across Switzerland into Italy and onward via Milan, Venice and Trieste in Slovenia, forward in direction of Croatia and the city of Rijeka, from the city of Rijeka forward 105 km to the ferry port Jablanac.

The best connection between the island and the mainland is by the ferries of the Rapska Plovidba d.d. a local shipping company that operate between the mainland Jablanac and Mišnjak on the southern coast of the island. The crossing takes 12 minutes only and it is ensured throughout the year.
