A former coaching inn run by the Woolcock family for over 100 years, the Commercial Hotel is well known locally for its great food and warm Cornish welcome.

Situated in the centre of St Just, the hotel makes an ideal base for people wishing to explore the coastal paths and beaches of the Land's End area. The Commercial has 2 bars, a public one (the bottom bar) where you are more than likely to meet one or 2 of the local characters and enjoy a game of pool, and a lounge bar which has a more cosy feel.

We offer accredited facilities to both walkers and cyclists and are a popular stopping off point for birdwatchers as well. We are only a few minutes drive from the famous Minack Theatre and close to Land's End Airport if you fancy a trip to the Isles of Scilly.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served between 08:00-09:00, although early breakfast is available upon request.

In addition to breakfast the hotel offers a full bar menu with weekly specials served from 12:00-14:00 and from 18:00-20:00 (October-May, until 21:00 from June-September).

Occasionally these times may vary according to unforeseen circumstances and guests are asked to check meal times upon arrival.

Room information

All of our rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard. Some rooms have DVD players. Drying and ironing facilities are available upon request.

Area information

The Commercial Hotel makes an ideal base for all those wishing to explore the coastal paths and beaches of the Land's End area. The ancient tin mining sites of our area, which have newly acquired World Heritage Status, are only a few minutes' walk away. Cape Cornwall, the only Cape in England, is half a mile away and the headland dominates our local fishing cove, Priest's Cove.

We are also just a few minutes' drive from the famous Minack open air theatre which has been carved out of the cliff side and is home to fantastic productions performed weekly throughout the summer months. If you fancy a trip to the Scilly Isles, then Land's End Airport is only a couple of miles away.

Important information

Please note that the hotel is open over the Christmas period. However, the kitchen only serves breakfast on Christmas Day and the bar is only open between 11:00 and 14:00. It is not open on Christmas night.
