Most Festival and Fringe venues are within walking distance especially Festival Theatre, Queens Hall & the Pleasance, Edinburgh University, Pollock Halls, Commonwealth Swimming Pool, Royal Infirmary, Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle.

This is traditional Edinburgh tenement living, where the shared stairwell leads to the door of the apartment.

You are provided with contact numbers for the apartments’ managers, in case you have any requirements. A daily maid service is available by separate negotiation.

Food & beverage

Tea and coffee are supplied, as are milk, sugar and oatmeal, which is a traditional Scottish breakfast cereal.

The apartments are fully equipped for self catering, however there is a cafe on the ground floor in the row of shops below the apartments. The cafe serves breakfast rolls and all kinds of coffee, including lattes and cappuccinos. The area surrounding the hotel also boasts many Indian, Chinese and Turkish takeaways. Just a few streets away is a wonderful selection of restaurants.

Each apartment is spacious and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare your own food, including an oven, hob, fridge/freezer and washing machine, as well as pots, pans, eating utensils, plates and cups.

Area information

The apartments are just over 0.6 miles (1 km) south of Princes Street, a half-hour walk from the High Street and a 10-minute bus ride from Princes Street. A taxi from Edinburgh Waverley train station should take about 5 minutes.

Most of Edinburgh’s main tourist attractions are within walking distance, including most of the major venues of the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. The apartments are also conveniently located for the city’s New Year celebrations in late December, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace,the Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh University, Pollock Hall of Residence, Queens Park, including the famous hill known as Arthur’s Seat, the Royal Infirmary and the Commonwealth swimming pool, gym and spa.

The apartments are situated above a little row of shops, including a small cafe serving lattes, cappuccinos and traditional Scottish breakfast rolls. The row of shops also includes convenience stores selling food and other essentials, a ladies and gents hairdresser, a beautician and a masseur. There are also many health practitioners on the same street, from a podiatrist to osteopaths to a doctor’s surgery.

Please provide an approximate time of arrival and a contact mobile telephone number, so that someone can ensure that they are free to let you in to the apartments. On the day of arrival, please call us when you are in Edinburgh, in order to confirm the appointment time. Please note that the latest check-in time is usually 22:00.
