The Britannia Hotel dates back to 1858, when the building was opened as the world’s original cash and carry store. It went on to become the cotton industry’s most famous warehouse.
Lift access is available to the ground floor and all rooms, with accessible rooms and bathrooms available. Restaurants and bars are accessible via stairs. Please note that Crompton’s French Restaurant is not accessible for guests with mobility problems.
Crompton's French Restaurant:
Along with its traditional, intimate decor, the restaurant offers superb French cuisine with service to match. Full à la carte and fixed price menus are available, with meals served from 18:00 to 21:45 (Monday to Saturday).
Crompton's Bar:
Adjoining Crompton's French Restaurant, the bar offers a wide range of cocktails and aperitifs amid elegant surroundings. The bar stays open for residents until very late in the evening.
Jenny's Restaurant and Bar:
A modern restaurant and bar, very popular with the locals. The Big Britannia Breakfast is served here, with its extensive selection of hot and cold dishes. At lunchtime, there is a super value buffet and traditional roast meal on Sundays. In the evening, an extensive fixed price menu offers a selection of traditional and modern tasty meals.
The Pizzeria:
Enjoy the jolly Italian atmosphere found within the pizzeria. Offering everything from an espresso coffee and a deep filled sandwich, to a 3-course Italian style meal. Open from 11:00 to 02:00.
The hotel also boasts 2 popular bars, Wave and Bar-Rogue, both open until late with music and DJs.
The Britannia Hotel is close to the city’s financial district, around 700 metres from Manchester Central (formerly known as G-MEX). Both Chinatown and The Village, 2 popular city areas boasting a range of bars and restaurants, are both only a few minutes away on foot. The City of Manchester Stadium and Sport City are both only 3.2 km (2 miles) from the hotel. The hotel is also lucky enough to possess excellent public transport links, offering easy access to most of Manchester’s most famous attractions.
