Even if you do not have a car, you can take a quiet walk along the ring road, from the bridge of San Martín, and admire the classic view of the city built on the river Tajo.
The route ends at the medieval bridge of Alcántara, where the remains of Roman aqueduct and the castle of San Servando may be seen. The river basin is site of the remarkable neo-Mudejar style Railway Station, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century.
