Overview |
Surrounded by green, rolling hills and idyllically located in the southeast of the island of Fyn in Denmark, Broholm is a 400 hundred year old manor house surrounded by 2 moats and the jewel in the crown for the Gudme district. The same family has owned this historic castle for 12 generations including its 1,500 acres of land, gardens and lush parkland.
The exclusive rooms of the late Gothic buildings have been authentically restored to their original splendour with gilt leather, wood panelling and the countless family portraits that were painted between 1600 and mid 1900.
Broholm is home to Denmark’s first museum building, the three winged museum building at the southern end of the moat.
Take a relaxing stroll through the orangery or row across could row across the lake to the delightful summerhouse where afternoon tea is often served.
The characteristic library has been tastefully converted into impressive conference facilities, while still retaining respect for the family’s unique and vast collection of books.
Broholm Equestrian Centre is situated in one of the wings of the former farmhouse.
