Centrally located between Bern and Lausanne on the border between the German- and French-speaking areas of Switzerland, Murten is an ideal starting point for trips into the surrounding area. The hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the train station and is situated at the entrance to the old town, directly beside the castle. It boasts personal service, a refined cuisine, a big choice of regional wines and individually decorated rooms and suites.

Murten is a medieval town surrounded by historic walls. In the 15th century, the old town was the setting of one of the most well-known battles in Swiss history. In summer, the lake area and the Vully (hill of vineyards across the lake) are wonderful hiking areas. Thanks to Murten's central location, there are plenty of cities (Fribourg, Avenches, Bern, Biel, Neuchâtel) in the surrounding area to visit. Besides the historic sights, Murten features museums, cinemas and a public swimming pool.
Parking is strictly limited in the old town. A public car park (City Parking) is just 1 min on foot from the hotel (entrance Altstadt West). We sell tickets for this car park. You will receive further information at the reception.
