The hotel is housed in an early 15th century building. It takes its name from the local trade in exotic fruit, which was prevalent from 1445.
A restaurant-bar is located on the hotel's ground floor and is open for breakfast and lunch (open 10:00 - 17:00, Tuesday - Saturday). It can also be reserved for an evening dinner for group functions (up to 18 diners).
Antwerp Cathedral (200 m) - built in 1351 and never formally completed, this Gothic style cathedral boasts a 123 m spire and significant works by the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens.
